We often get asked if we do mens hair at the studio?
The answer is a big fat yes. The only thing we need to mention is that we have gender neutral pricing so there's no difference between mens and women's haircuts.
Why is that you ask? Well it's because we are not a barbers. We do hairdressing across the board for whoever is sat in our studio chairs. Each haircut takes as long as the other and we offer 1 hour appointments so there is enough time for consultations etc. And just to quash the myth: because your hair is shorter, it doesn't mean it takes less time.
Rather than calling it a mens haircut in our booking system, we have a category named Short cuts, Pixie Cuts and Crops. This is also a gender neutral category, because it applies to absolutely anybody with short hair.
Anyway, now that's out the way, let's take a look at some of the latest mens/short/crop/pixie haircuts to come out of the studio created by the team to hopefully give you all some inspiration.

These first three styles were inspired by the 90's.
The French Crop: This haircut was big in the 90's and has re-appeared with a slight twist - the sides and back are shorter than the original 90's version. the shorter sides can be a fade or a buzz cut and the top is then a little longer with some texture, and a blunter fringe. You can wear this either textured or flatter like the old Caeser cut.
Recommended Styling products: Davines Forming Pomade
The Top Perm: Gaining popularity since last year, men are getting more bold with their hair cuts and styles and at first were nervous to ask for a perm, but now it's become the norm.
With shorter back and sides, and longer on top, the curls make the hair surprisingly low maintenance to style, as you can shampoo and leave it to dry with just a little curl product to help define the curls. For speed you can diffuse the curls dry.
Recommended Styling products: Davines Curl Moisturising Mousse
The 90's Movie Star Haircut: Another 90's re-invention, think a young Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt and Keanu Reeves.
A longer haircut with some length at the back and the top left longer but texturised for versatility.
In the 90's it was known as the curtsain cut. This was worn with more of centre parting, but it has now been elevated to movie star status as its worn more to the side and even some lift in the fringe area.
Its great if you're
a) growing out a mullet or b) have had longer hair but need a change.
You can wear it over to the side ( as shown in the picture) or slicked bak with a little product to give shine and texture.
Recommended Styling products: Davines Medium Hold Pliable Paste or Oil Non Oil

The next five cuts are versatile and adaptable to anybody
The Soft Crop: Short through the sides and a little more taapered into the nape of the neck some length was left through the top and softly textured allowing the haircut to be worn over to the side, forward or even back away from the face
Recommended Styling products: Davines Forming Pomade
The City Slicker: This tradtional short back and sides was left longer on top to allow for a versatile slick look. Not only for men this is a great haircut for everyone who during the day may want to look smart and office ready, but after work can loosen it up to be textured or even blowdried with a round brush to get some volume and height,
Recommended Styling products: Davines Strong Moulding Clay for slick look or Dry Wax Finishing Spray
Textured and Sassy: The perfect cut for making short hair look feminine and/or fun. Cut softly into the sides and back to give a shorter haircut illusion, the top is longer with layers that can be blowdried using a medium round brush and even tonged with a medium sized tong to give soft waves.
This haircut can also be blowdried back away from the face with some volume for a smarter appearance if need be.
Recommended Styling products: Davines Volume Boosting Mousse
Soft Wet Curls: This short softer haircut for curls is ideal for those with curly/wavy hair who want a no fuss approach to their hair.
With the sides and back left softer and a little longer, the top has enough length to allow the curls or waves to form. It can be left wet looking as shown here or diffused for a dryer look.
Recommended Styling products: Davines Curl Moisturising Mousse.
The Soft Bowl: Again another 90's haircut revival but with a slightly softer feel than before. In the 90's this cut was about hard lines everywhere, and literally looked like the hairuct was done around a bowl on the top of the head. Now the edges have been softened down, with the outline being texturised and the hard line at the back replaced with soft graduation into the neck line. It's all the heaviness but without the harshness.
Recommended Styling products: Davines Invisible Serum.

And finally 2 haircuts and colour for those feeling like they want something super strong and eye catching.
The Soft Mullet: Also being called the Pullet ( pixie meets mullet) -we're not loving the name "Pullet here at the studio btw - this haicut has a shorter textured top ( ie: pixie) but much longer sides and back ( ie: mullet) to give a strong bold look for those who fancy something a little more radical for Summer.
The Creamy Blonde Crop: This creamy blonde colour is how to take raw bleached blonde ( as seen in the 80's and 2010's) into 2025. The hair cut is short layers all over , slightly tapered into the neck and some longer pieces just around the ear so as not to be too severe. The bleach blonde is a real statement to add to the haircut but is softened a litle with a warm creamy toner that still keeps the brightness.
So if you fancy a short haircut for Summer or a little colour change, we hope we've given you enough food for thought to be inspired by.
We look forward to seeing you at the studio soon.
